Continued Support For Mango Elementary

Brandon Lodge continues to support Mango Elementary through our Adopt-A-Teacher, Adopt-A-Administrative/Support Person, and Adopt-A-School programs. On Thursday, September 22, 2022, thirty faculty members and family joined us for dinner and lodge presentations by Worshipful Steve Davenport.
Teacher Christina Salerno was presented with a check for $1,000.00. Salerno is a dedicated first-grade teacher who works with the most challenging students and believes they can all find success. Salerno works diligently to reshape behaviors and turn her student into thriving citizens each year.

Administrative/Support Person Kerri Blosser was subsequently presented with a check for $500.00. Blosser is a dedicated secretary who knows all of Mango’s 700 students by name. Principal Sabrina Ruiz was also presented with a check for the Mango School clothing fund. This fund allows staff to purchase clothing items for those students who are in need. The money was raised through donations made by the brothers of the lodge and monies from our spaghetti dinner. Mango Elementary has a long history of educating and serving students of Mango, Florida. We hope these funds will help the staff of Mango Elementary with their efforts.

Masonry recognizes Teachers as some of our most important professionals. Salerno, Blosser, and Ruiz were also presented Certificates of Appreciation signed by Most Worshipful Robert J. Lambert, Grand Master of the Most Worshipful Grand Lodge of Free & Accepted Masons of Florida.
A special thank you went out to Brothers Bob Colon, George Hannon, and David Jones for their support for Mango Elementary and the work they put into the Adopt-A-School and Teacher programs. Worshipful Davenport presented the Brothers with Certificates of Appreciation and Education Coins.
We look forward to supporting this worthy cause in the future.

Raising Funds for Mango Elementary School

Freemasons believe that the spirit of Freemasonry is embodied in three great principles: Brotherly Love, Relief, and Truth. The practice of Relief (charity) is not only for its members but for the community. This summer, the brothers of Brandon Lodge No. 114 adopted Mango Elementary School, located in Seffner, Fl, to provide much-needed school supplies and funding for the teachers and students.

Our Junior Warden, Brother Cory Jones, and his wife Cathy organized a spaghetti dinner that was well attended by brothers of the lodge along with their families as well as members of the community. In total, over $2000 was raised for Mango Elementary. The lodge also collected school supplies to be donated along with the monies.

We raised money, collected supplies, and donated 6 pints of blood as the Big Red Bus was onsite during the spaghetti dinner for anyone who wanted to contribute.

We look forward to supporting other worthy causes in the future.
